Italian manufacturer Tecnam on Wednesday announced a new alliance with Jeppesen ForeFlight at AERO 2026 in Friedrichshafen, Germany, that will integrate advanced flight planning and execution capabilities into its line of next-gen aircraft.
According to a news release, the agreement allows Tecnam aircraft owners to benefit from a one-year subscription to Jeppesen NavData and Jeppesen Charts for their respective region, in addition to one ForeFlight premium subscription available immediately on the customer’s personal smart devices and panel avionics.
How It Works
To integrate Jeppesen data solutions directly into Garmin avionics systems, Tecnam has introduced a new option called the Jeppesen Premium Plan. Required for full system compatibility, this option is tailored to the specific avionics of the Tecnam fleet including:
- Jeppesen ForeFlight Tecnam Bundle for G1000: Available for the P2012, P2010, and P2006T models.
- Jeppesen ForeFlight Tecnam Bundle for G3X: Available for the P2008JC NG, P-Mentor, US/LSA, and MOSAIK59 models.
“At Tecnam, we are continuously focused on enhancing the pilot experience,” said Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s chief sales officer, in the news release. “This partnership with Jeppesen ForeFlight ensures that every Tecnam pilot is equipped with the most advanced navigation tools from the very beginning. It’s another step forward in our mission to deliver safety, innovation, and value in every aircraft we produce.”
Jeppesen products have been helping pilots find their way since Elrey Jeppesen, an airmail pilot with Boeing Air Transport, started keeping records about the routes he flew and the airports he flew into and sharing them with other pilots. At the time, pilots navigated by pilotage, dead reckoning, road maps, and following railroad tracks from town to town.
Jeppesen used his experience to create en route procedures and approach procedures to be used on low-visibility situations. Over the years as cockpit technology evolved, Jeppesen instrument charts evolved as well, making the jump from paper to electronic flight bags (EFBs).
“This program reinforces our commitment to delivering best-in-class data and tools directly at the point of aircraft production,” said Scott Reagan, Jeppesen ForeFlight’s director of strategic alliances. “By partnering with Tecnam, we ensure Jeppesen data and charts are seamlessly integrated into every aircraft from day one.”
