Garmin Launches Weather Radar Course

Garmin is expanding its online course curriculum with a course designed to help pilots interpret onboard weather radar data.

Weather radar is a terrific tool for pilots to avoid adverse conditions in the sky and help them make better weather-related decisions.

Garmin's Weather Radar Operations eLearning Course teaches pilots basic and intermediate weather radar operations, interpretation and analysis, and how to use tilt and range management functions. The course also incorporates the use of Nexrad and how it can be used in combination with weather radar systems to provide better situational awareness, risk management and decision making for the pilot.

The information in the course is not Garmin specific. It can be applied to any radar systems. Pilots can study the material on any computer, tablet or smartphone with an Internet connection. The Weather Radar Operations eLearning Course is now available as a 180-day subscription through the flyGarmin website for $149.
