A search for a missing vintage De Havilland DH84 Dragon 2 biplane concluded with the discovery of its wreckage in Australia's Sunshine Coast hinterland.
All six people aboard the 1934 biplane, including 68-year-old pilot Desmond Porter, perished in the crash.
The VFR-only aircraft went missing in heavy cloud cover after the pilot made a distress call regarding positioning, and an emergency beacon briefly activated before cutting out.
The search for a missing De Havilland DH84 Dragon 2 ended on Wednesday when a rescue helicopter spotted the wreckage of the rare 1934 biplane in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Australia.
Neither the 68-year-old pilot, Desmond Porter, nor the five passengers aboard the vintage airplane survived the crash.
