The search for a missing 1934 De Havilland DH84 Dragon 2 biplane concluded with the discovery of its wreckage in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Australia.
All six people aboard the vintage aircraft, including 68-year-old pilot Desmond Porter and five passengers, perished in the crash.
The VFR-only plane went missing after making a distress call during heavy cloud cover, having spent the day giving scenic rides, and its emergency beacon activated briefly.
The search for a missing De Havilland DH84 Dragon 2 ended on Wednesday when a rescue helicopter spotted the wreckage of the rare 1934 biplane in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Australia.
Neither the 68-year-old pilot, Desmond Porter, nor the five passengers aboard the vintage airplane survived the crash.
