About 17:45 PST, a Beech 95-B55 hit mountains near Coalinga, killing the two occupants. No flight plan was filed and local area residents reported IMC with rain and wind existed near the accident site. The flight originated at Sacramento an hour earlier and was destined for Fullerton when the aircraft was lost from radio and radar coverage at 14,500 feet msl, about 20 miles southeast of the Panoche VOR. Search efforts were initiated and the wreckage was found the next day near Santa Rita Peak about 3,500 feet msl. At 14:12 EDT, a Beech Travelair crashed near Shawsville, and the four occupants died. The pilot had been given an IFR clearance and had advised the tower that he had Information Romeo, which contained a HIWAS alert for moderate to occasional severe turbulence below 12,000 feet due to northwesterly winds over rough terrain along the airplanes proposed route of flight. The tower controller asked for a pilot report shortly after clearing the flight to climb to 8,000 feet, but the pilot did not respond and the airplane disappeared from radar. At about 08:10 CDT, a Beech 95-A55 was lost from radar and crashed near Aliceville. The commercial-rated pilot was killed. The flight originated about 07:49 from Meridian, Miss. The pilot advised the approach controller that he was having a problem that did not involve the airplane. He requested and received a vector to George Downer Airport, 9.6 miles from his location. At 15:16 central time, a Beechcraft 95-B55 crashed after a loss of control while maneuvering near Milltown, killing the flight instructor and the dual student. The flight had departed St. Paul, Minn., on a local instructional flight. Several witnesses reported hearing the engines stop and said they saw the airplane spiraling to the ground….

October 26, Pittstown, N.J. / Beech Travelair

At about 12:55 eastern time, a Beech B95A was damaged during landing at Sky Manor Airport. The pilot and passenger received minor injuries. A witness said the pilot aborted the first landing attempt. During the second attempt, the airplane first touched down on one main landing gear, then the other. The nose of the airplane went straight up in the air, and the airplane stalled. It then nosed straight down and left two impact marks where the engines hit the runway. The airplane then flipped on its back and skidded off the runway….
