March 30, Tavernier, Fla. / Beech Bonanza

At about 0615 eastern time, a Beech A36 crashed during takeoff at Tavernaero Park. The pilot and pilot-rated passenger/owner received minor injuries and two other passengers received no injuries. The pilot said he was operating the flight controls during the takeoff roll when suddenly a dog appeared in front of the airplane. The next thing he remembered was that the airplane banked left and collided with trees lining the left side of the runway. February 28, Captiva Island, Fla. / Beech Bonanza

At about 1530 eastern time, a Beech 36 crashed into the waters of Pine Island Sound shortly after takeoff from North Captiva Airport. The pilot was killed. Initial radar data showed the flight departed to the east and then took up a heading to the southeast, maintained a southeast heading until the flight turned easterly. There were no radio communications from the airplane. The pilot had intended to pick up some passengers at Page Field but never arrived. The wreckage was found about 2 miles from the departure airport in five feet of water. Fishermen reported that at about the time the accident occurred fog had rolled in over Pine Island Sound, reducing visibility to zero for about 15 minut…

At 1046 mountain time, a Beech S-35 landing at Desert Gardens Airstrip collided with a car crossing the runway. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The pilot said he was landing on the dirt strip when a car pulled out to cross the runway. He applied power to go around, but the left main landing gear struck the car and sheared off. The airplane then skidded down the runway. The car was on a road that crosses the runway….

February 04, Middletown, Calif. / Beech Bonanza

At about 0755 Pacific time, a Beech F35 struck fences and a house during an aborted takeoff from a private dirt airstrip near Middletown. The pilot suffered minor injuries. The pilot said the airplane was ice heavy during takeoff and ran out of runway, so the pilot tried to abort the takeoff. A police officer reported that the wheels of the airplane touched down approximately 300 feet from the house….

At 1400 central time, a Beech G35 was damaged during maneuvering during a local training flight out of Frasca Field. The pilot, who was not injured, had performed chandelles and lazy eights, and was performing steep turns when the rudder pedals began to vibrate while in a left turn. The pilot landed without incident. Inspection revealed the left ruddervator was loose, the left stabilator spar was cracked and the fuselage was wrinkled ahead of the ruddervators….

At 1945 eastern time, a Beech A36 reported severe in-flight icing and subsequently crashed on approach to Moore-Murrell Airport. The pilot and passenger suffered minor injuries. The pilot said he was on an IFR flight plan, descending through 8,100 feet when the airplane began to pick up structural ice. The airplane was cleared to descend to 5,100 feet, during which time it continued to collect structural ice. While on final approach to runway 05 the airplane was unable to maintain altitude and crashed a mile southwest of the airport….

December 25, Hollywood, Fla. / Beech Bonanza

At 1130 eastern time, a Beech F-35 Bonanza experienced an airframe vibration while descending out of 3,500 feet 25 miles west of Hollywood North Perry Airport. The pilot slowed the airplane and landed without further incident. The pilot said he was descending from 3,500 feet at 180 knots indicated when he felt the tail flutter. He reduced power, slowed the airplane and landed successfully. A post-landing inspection found the empennage aft of the rear bulkhead had substantial wrinkling near the horizontal stabilizers….

At about 0800 Pacific time, a Beech A36 collided with power lines during an instrument departure climb to VFR conditions on top from the Chino Airport. The pilot and two passengers were not injured. The pilot said he was on top of the fog, looked down at his instruments, and then looked up and saw the power lines. The airplane crashed in a pasture approximately 1 1/2 miles southwest of the airport….

October 09, Jellico, Tenn. / Beech Bonanza

At about 1057 eastern time, a Beech K-35 broke up in flight and crashed on Pine Mountain near Jellico. The pilot was killed. The airplane was en route at 9,000 feet when Indianapolis Center handed the flight off to Atlanta Center. The pilot did not respond. Radar data showed the southbound flight made a brief descending right turn before climbing back to 9,000 feet. The airplane was then heading north-northeast and disappeared from radar while at a Mode C indicated altitude of 7,700 feet….

At 08:07 MST, a Beech Debonair struck terrain during initial climb from Lake County Airport. The three occupants were not injured. The pilot told investigators he was departing on runway 34 and the airplane just didnt seem to have the power. The airplane impacted rising terrain and both wings were bent….
