Returning from a year of sequestration, the Blue Angels squadron will take to the skies at the inaugural Los Angeles County Air Show, set to take place this weekend at the General William J. Fox Airfield in the outskirts of Lancaster, California. The team of six F/A-18 Hornets will perform their nail-biting formation show, which includes close formation flight and opposing solos. The team’s C-130, Fat Albert, will also perform, showing off the big transport airplane’s remarkable STOL capabilities.

In addition to the Blue Angels, an impressive lineup of air show performers is scheduled to fly including Chuck Aaron, flying his wild aerobatic helicopter show; Kirby Chambliss, five-time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion performing in his Zivko Edge 540; and the Red Bull Air Force, a team of formation wingsuit flyers. A long list of historical airplanes will also take to the skies including the Flying Wing, P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning and F-86 Sabre Jet.
