The DA36 E-Star is the world's first serial hybrid electric airplane, developed collaboratively by Siemens, Diamond Aircraft, and EADS.
It features a 70 kW electric motor linked to a Wankel engine and generator, using a rechargeable battery for takeoff and climb, adapting hybrid technology previously seen only in cars.
The project aims for this technology to serve as a launching pad for larger-scale innovation in the aviation industry.
