Rockwell Collins test pilots in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, have begun flight testing the company’s new touch-screen version of the Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics system. The system is installed in Rockwell Collins’ Beech King Air B200GT.
“We’re on track to bring this innovation to market as planned,” said Rockwell Collins vice president and general manager of business and regional systems Greg Irmon after the first flight. Certification for the touch-screen version of Fusion is expected in late 2013 with entry into service in early 2014. It will be introduced through Hawker Beechcraft’s Global Customer Support as a retrofit in King Airs with Pro Line 21 avionics.
