Piper Recruits for PiperJet Altaire Program in Wichita

Piper Aircraft

Piper Aircraft will be recruiting in Wichita next week as the company looks to fill a variety of positions at Piper headquarters in Vero Beach, Florida.

The recruitment effort comes after the company recently announced a surge in billings and deliveries during the first half of 2011. During those six months, Piper put more than $57 million in new aircraft billings in the books, an increase of 16 percent from the first half of 2010.

While Piper president and CEO Geoffrey Berger said the company's financial successes so far in 2011 have been brought about in part by reeling in costs, he emphasized the company's ongoing commitment to its first jet, the single-engine PiperJet Altaire.

“Piper is making enormously significant investments for the future in bringing the PiperJet Altaire to production,” he said.

According to Piper, many of the positions the company is looking to fill will be dedicated to the Altaire program, which Piper says will make its first flight next year, followed by first deliveries in 2014.

The Piper career fair will take place on Friday, October 7, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center.
