NBAA has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association to coordinate Light Business Aviation (LBA) conferences. There will be LBA conferences at each of the associations’ meetings every year starting in 2010. NBAA had planned a dedicated LBA conference of its own this year, but cancelled plans in light of the depressed economy. Instead, the business aircraft trade group held a program of more than 20 LBA seminars and events concurrent with its main convention last week. Under the new arrangement, NBAA and AOPA will collaborate on the two annual LBA events. NBAA president Ed Bolen cited “a strong overlap of interests” between the two associations. AOPA noted that the two associations’ annual meetings are often held on opposite coasts, giving light business aircraft operators and service providers increased opportunity to participate.
