Garmin Introduces eLearning Products

It's been said that simply flying a modern "technologically advanced" aircraft is much easier than steam gauge-equipped aircraft-once you master programming the avionics. Garmin addressed this during the current Sun 'n Fun show in Lakeland, Florida, with the announcement of a new computer-based series of training CDs. The first Garmin GPS product to get the treatment is the GPS 696/695 series of portables. The training CDs are available from garmin.com or dealers at the suggested retail price of $99.95. Garmin's eLearning Program is a standalone, self-paced Windows-compatible product based on a multi-mode teaching dynamic. The content is divided into sections that need not be addressed sequentially, so customers can address any of the 50 items in the order they choose. Garmin expects to expand its eLearning program to include other portables such as the GPSMap 396 and GPSMap 496 as well as its popular GNS 430W/530W series of panel-mount navigators and the G1000 integrated glass-panel avionics suite.
