Key Takeaways:

Michigan has launched a "whole-of-government" Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Initiative, led by Governor Whitmer's executive directive, to establish the state as a leading hub for drone and electric air taxi technology.
The initiative aims to leverage Michigan's manufacturing and engineering strengths, create FAA-approved testing corridors, attract AAM manufacturers, and develop a skilled workforce through educational programs.
An additional $4.1 million in grants has been allocated to specific AAM projects, including drone delivery for healthcare and logistics, and the development of a major autonomous drone and eVTOL testbed at the University of Michigan.
