Mojave, California-based advanced flight training company Flight Research Inc. has announced a dedicated upset recovery training course for Cessna Citation operators. The event is planned in partnership with the Citation Jet Owners and Pilots Association during the organization's CJP Safety Event on April 8 through 12.
CJP members can choose two, three or four days of training at the Flight Research facility at the Mojave Air and Space Port. The courses use ground school and flight training to teach pilots how to recognize and recover from extreme unusual attitudes, even inverted flight.
Flight Research uses jet aircraft to conduct its upset recognition and recovery training. A single-engine Aermacci MB-326 Impala and a North American Sabreliner. A Northrop T-38A Talon is used for high-performance URRT. Turboprop operators can use a Beechcraft King Air or Norman NDN-1T Firecracker while lower cost general aviation training can be conducted in a Slingsby T-67 Firefly.

The course will help pilots qualify for the CJP Gold Standard Safety Award, which will be awarded at the convention. Several training requirements, including simulator and in-aircraft training, must be completed annually for pilots to qualify for the award.
Other optional events that will take place during the CJP's meeting are photo or formation flight missions and tours of the Air and Space Port and the Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base.
