March 5, 2007, Bedford, Ind., Cessna 150M

At approximately 1035 Eastern time, the airplane was substantially damaged when it impacted a house and terrain. Visual conditions prevailed. The Student pilot and his passenger were fatally injured. There were no ground injuries reported. The local flight departed at approximately 0900.

March 10, 2007, Albuquerque, N.Mex., Flight Design USA CT-SW

At 1558 Mountain time, the light sport aircraft was substantially damaged when its right main landing gear separated during an aborted landing. The airplane subsequently impacted on the runway, departed off the side and nosed over. The two flight instructors on board sustained minor injuries; visual conditions prevailed and winds were calm.

March 12, 2007, Groveland, CALIF., Piper PA-38-112 Tomahawk

At about 1000 Pacific, the airplane veered off the runway and encountered a ditch while landing. The Private pilot was not injured; the airplane sustained substantial damage. Visual conditions prevailed. The pilot subsequently reported observing the windsock, which looked limp. He entered right traffic for Runway 27, noting mountainous terrain. After two rejected landing attempts, he felt that he could land in the first third of the runway.

March 16, 2007, Titusville, Fla., Aero Vodochody L-39C

The jet trainer crashed at about 1443 Eastern time while the pilot was performing aerobatic maneuvers at the TICO Warbird Airshow. Visual conditions prevailed. The Airline Transport pilot and sole occupant received fatal injuries. The accident occurred at the bottom of a loop. A witness stated that, during the loop, the angle of descent became progressively shallow as the airplane neared the ground, as if the pilot was attempting to pull out of the dive at too low an altitude. The airplane impacted terrain and was destroyed.

At about 0755 Central time, the airplane was substantially damaged during a forced landing following a loss of engine power while on final approach. The Private pilot and sole occupant sustained minor injuries. Visual conditions prevailed for the cross-country flight.

The airplane experienced a loss of engine power during cruise and made an emergency landing at about 0745 Pacific time in a construction site. The Private pilot and one passenger were not injured; the airplane sustained substantial damage after impacting a ditch during the landing rollout. Visual conditions prevailed.

March 7, 2007, Tooele, Utah, Piper PA-28-235

The airplane sustained an in-flight structural failure at about 2135 Mountain time, breaking apart and fatally injuring the Flight Instructor and two passengers aboard. Visual conditions prevailed.Witnesses took off behind the accident airplane and observed it in front of them, flying the same basic route. While at 7500 feet, they were below the accident airplane.
