Key Takeaways:

  • Archer Aviation has significantly expanded its partnerships, becoming the exclusive air taxi provider for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2027 Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles, in addition to the previously announced 2028 Olympic Games.
  • These high-profile event partnerships are primarily strategic, aiming to engage local communities and officials to support the development and launch of Archer's eVTOL air taxi network in Los Angeles and other major U.S. cities.
  • Despite ambitious timelines for commercial service and Olympic flights, Archer's Midnight eVTOL still needs to complete crucial flight testing, such as piloted hover-to-forward flight transition, and secure FAA type inspection authorization.
  • The broader eVTOL industry, including Archer, is benefiting from recent FAA regulatory advancements and the new eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP), which aims to accelerate the development and operational standards for electric air taxis.

Within months of being named the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, electric aircraft developer Archer Aviation has secured partnerships with two more global sporting events—FIFA World Cup in 2026 and Super Bowl LXI in 2027.

The Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC), which leads the host committees for both events in LA, on Tuesday named Archer its exclusive air taxi partner. The company will be an official host city supporter for the World Cup and official host committee partner for Super Bowl LXI.
