Boeing has suspended certification flight testing of its 777X airliner after discovering problems with the engine attachment structures in all three test aircraft.
A thrust link, a component securing the engine, was found broken on one test aircraft and cracked on the other two, leading to the grounding of the entire fleet.
This issue represents another setback for Boeing amidst a series of manufacturing and quality control challenges, with the duration of the delay for resuming flight testing currently unclear.
The Air Current is reporting that Boeing has suspended certification flight testing of its new flagship 777X airliner after it found problems with the engine attachments in all three test aircraft.
The publication said a thrust link that helps secure the engine to its mounting structure was discovered to be broken after a flight from Kona, Hawaii, to Seattle.
