Cessna has unveiled the Grand Caravan EX, a new and more powerful version of its aircraft, featuring an 867 hp engine that provides a 25 percent horsepower boost.
The EX model offers significant performance improvements, including a 350-foot reduction in takeoff roll, a 20 percent increase in climb rate, and an average cruise speed increase of 10 to 12 knots.
For the first time since its introduction, the Grand Caravan EX can be outfitted with floats and also includes features like longer-lifetime LED lights and the elimination of the Prist fuel additive requirement.
The new aircraft is expected to enter service in the fourth quarter of this year, retaining the Garmin G1000 avionics suite.
