A U.S. Air Force Boeing C-32A—sometimes used as Air Force Two—was recently spotted in a new livery similar to the one President Donald Trump has picked out for the VC-25Bs that will eventually serve as the new Air Force One.
Instagram user @tt_33_operator posted a picture of the jet flying from Majors Airport (KGVT) in Greenville, Texas. It sports a white-and-dark-blue design with red-and-gold lines and a waving U.S. flag on the side of its tail.
The photo was first reported by The War Zone on Tuesday. The news website identified the airplane captured by @tt_33_operator as 99-0003.
The Air Force’s fleet of C-32As are used to transport the vice president, first lady, secretary of state, other cabinet officials, and sometimes the president. The type is based on the 757.
The new C-32A livery is similar, perhaps identical, to designs that have begun appearing on other U.S. government aircraft, including a 737 Boeing Business Jet delivered to the Department of Homeland Security and a Gulfstream 700 used by the Coast Guard. Those liveries also feature a white and dark blue fuselage with red and gold lines and a waving U.S. flag on the tail.
Trump picked a similar paint job for the two VC-25Bs that will eventually serve as the next Air Force One. The design replaces the current Air Force One livery, which combines white and light blue.
Some aviation commentators have noted that the quickly spreading livery bears a resemblance to Trump’s personal 757, often referred to as Trump Force One. That aircraft features the same colors and a waving U.S. flag, but the white-and-dark-blue sections are reversed. Trump Force One also has the name “Trump” spelled in gold near the front of the airplane.
The VC-25Bs are expected to be delivered in 2028, the last full year of Trump’s term in office. His stated frustration with Boeing’s timeline prompted him to accept a Boeing 747-8 from the government of Qatar, which is now being retrofitted to serve as an interim Air Force One.
