Tulsa Community College

Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tulsa Community College offers two associate degrees and multiple certificate programs in aviation. Students do not need to be enrolled in a degree program to take flight courses.

Value

Tulsa Community College offers affordable tuition for in-state students. In-state tuition runs about $3,500 a year. Out-of-state students will pay significantly more for tuition at approximately $10,000 a year. This is base tuition and does not include flight expenses.

In addition to tuition, flight students will be responsible for flight costs. Over the course of the program, flight students will be responsible for about $90,000 in flight fees, which will get the student pilot to 350 hours.

Students can seek out scholarships to help mitigate the cost of school, including the:

  • Richard R. Harper Memorial Scholarship
  • Jason Kurt Lohr Aviation Scholarship
  • Will Martin Flight Training Scholarship

Eligible students can also use veteran’s benefits to pay for school.

Fleet and Facilities

The college’s fleet consists of late-model training aircraft, including:

  • Cessna 172s
  • Piper Seminoles

A Redbird FMX flight simulator is also available for student use.

The Bottom Line

Tulsa Community College hosts a new aviation center at the Tulsa Riverside Airport. The fleet of six technically advanced aircraft and the eligibility for a restricted ATP put the schools as a contender to larger schools.
