Green River College

Program Highlights

Green River College hosts an FAA-approved Part 141 pilot school to provide ground and pilot training. Flight training occurs at the Renton Airport (KRNT), which is about 30 minutes from the main campus.

Green River Aviation is one of 36 institutions selected by the FAA for the Collegiate Training Initiative program.

Value

Green River College’s in-state tuition is about $4,000 a year while out-of-state tuition is slightly more at $7,000 a year. Base tuition does not include flight expenses.

Over the course of about two years, flight costs will be about $60,000.

Green River College offers many aviation scholarships for students to reduce costs even more, including:

  • Experimental Aircraft Association Scholarship
  • LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Scholarship

The school also accepts veteran’s benefits such as the GI Bill.

Green River College works with Rainier Flight Services to provide students with flight training. Rainier Flight Services has a partnership with Horizon Airlines which supports direct transition to airlines after accumulating 1,000 hours.

Graduates will be eligible for a R-ATP.
