The full production version of Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam’s EASA-certified P2010 is at the company’s booth on the Sun ‘n Fun show grounds. It is the first time the airplane is on display in North America and Tecnam hopes to have FAA Part 23 certification validation for the four-seat, clean sheet airplane by September, Walter Da Costa, international sales and marketing director for Tecnam said.

Now that the airplane has been brought across the Atlantic, Tecnam US has opened up the order book for the airplane, which is available for a Sun ‘n Fun special price of $345,000 for the first 10 customers. The list price for the P2010 is $379,500.

Tecnam has delivered more than 20 P2010s out of the factory in Italy, and expect to produce another 30 airplanes by the year-end. We had a chance to sit in the cockpit at the show. The airplane is very roomy — 45 inches at its widest point — with good visibility and excellent accessibility through the two front doors and additional door for the rear passengers. There is also a door for the aft luggage compartment.

Powered by a 180 horsepower Lycoming IO-360 engine, the high wing has a max cruise speed of 140 knots.
