Following recent successful transcontinental missions, the newly FAA-certified Cessna Citation Latitude, with a range of 2,850 nautical miles, demonstrated its first trans-Pacific flight this week, between the Santa Barbara, California (KSBA) and Maui, Hawaii (PHOG).
“With certification achieved, we see the Citation Latitude demonstrating its impressive capabilities and performance during common customer missions,” said Kriya Shortt, Cessna’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Making a direct climb to 45,000 feet, two pilots and five passengers made the nonstop 2,147-nautical-mile trip in 5 hours and 45 minutes, which included a 17-minute hold before arrival. On the return flight to Scottsdale, Arizona (KSDL), the Citation Latitude made the 2,473-nautical-mile flight in 5 hours and 45 minutes.
Next month the airplane will make its first debut in Latin America, before traveling to Europe, the Middle East and Asia later this year.
