On the heels of Piper’s introduction of the Meridian M500 earlier this year, the company on Monday unveiled two additional models to its M-class lineup, the M350 and the Garmin G3000-equipped M600, at an event attended by hundreds of customers and dealers.

In addition to its touchscreen G3000 avionics, the big news with the M600 is that it brings improved performance thanks to its clean-sheet wing design and Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A 600 shp engine. The new turboprop features a max range of 1,300 nm and a max payload of 1,200 pounds, a significant increase over the standard Meridian.

“Our customers and dealers asked for aircraft with additional payload and exceptional range,” said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott. “We listened and we delivered.”

The M600 also features a newly redesigned interior with new color options. The airplane is priced at $2.82 million, and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of the year.

Piper’s other new model revealed this week, the M350, is an upgraded version of the Mirage that brings a number of improvements, including a new Ametek digital fuel quality system and an upgraded G1000 suite that comes with innovative safety features such as a mode that will enact an emergency descent if the pilot becomes incapacitated due to hypoxia. Like the M500 announced in January, the M350 does not feature a new wing as the M600 does. The purchase price for the M350 is $1.15 million, about $55,000 more than the standard Mirage.

Flying’s Editor in Chief, Robert Goyer, recently flew the M500. Check out his pilot report on the airplane here.
