Today, the Make-A-Wish Foundation is giving several children with life-threatening medical conditions an opportunity to soar high above the John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. The children will climb into a rainbow-colored Lear 35 named Dream Chaser 4, an airplane owned by Centennial, Colorado-based International Jet Aviation, and enjoy a flight above their hometown. As the name implies, Dream Chaser 4 is the fourth airplane that has been a part of this type of mission.
In addition to the flight, the kids will have an opportunity to sit in the pilot’s seat, visit with the pilots, sign the fuselage of the Learjet and more. The Southern California visit is one of several stops made by the Lear 35 in four different states. Pilots, mechanics, dispatchers and other support staff volunteer their efforts to make these special events happen. “It is really worthwhile to know we have brought some extra fun and excitement to the kids of Make-A-Wish,” said Lynn Krogh, CEO of International Jet.
