Piper Aircraft saw a significant increase in Q1 performance, with deliveries up over 40% and sales revenue rising from $26 million to $31.5 million compared to Q1 2011, marking its third consecutive year of Q1 growth.
International sales were a major driver of this growth, with international deliveries (21) surpassing U.S. deliveries (16), particularly strong demand for M-Class business aircraft in Europe.
This positive trend represents a recovery for Piper, following a tumultuous year that included the suspension of the PiperJet Altaire program and a subsequent strategic shift back to its turboprop and piston aircraft lines.
Piper Aircraft deliveries shot up more than 40 percent during the first quarter of the year in comparison to 2011, according to positive performance numbers announced by the company on Tuesday.
The increase constitutes the third consecutive year Piper has posted Q1 growth, and illustrates the growing impact of international sales on the company’s bottom line.
