A pilot noted a humorous sequence of rock-band-themed waypoints (HALEN, IDOLL, BOSSS, etc.) on a flight towards Denver near the Rocky Mountains.
Another pilot, flying through military restricted airspace, narrowly avoided broadcasting complaints about ATC service after an awkward radio silence, instead receiving a job offer for his explanation of the "IDENT" command.
A third pilot found a chuckle-worthy Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) referencing "DECENT MANEUVERS," humorously playing on the word's double meaning.
When I fly commercial, I usually grab the filed route from FlightAware and pop it into my EFB to follow along during the trip. On a recent flight from Fort Lauderdale to Denver, I noticed the waypoints after Liberal, Kansas were:
