Key Takeaways:

DoorDash has launched drone delivery services with Wing (Alphabet's drone arm) in metropolitan Atlanta, allowing select customers to receive orders from specific restaurants within a 6-mile radius.
The service, accessible via a new drone icon in the DoorDash app, aims to deliver orders in as little as 20 minutes from a specific outlet location.
This expansion is part of DoorDash's broader strategy to integrate autonomous delivery, including drones and robots, into its services to make local commerce faster, more delightful, and sustainable.

A new, drone-shaped icon now appears within the DoorDash delivery app for certain customers in metropolitan Atlanta.

Tapping the icon will open a selection of restaurants at Tanger Outlets Locust Grove near the suburb of McDonough that deliver from Wing, the drone delivery arm of Google parent Alphabet. Per DoorDash, the small, buzzing aircraft will deliver to customers within 6 miles of the outlet in as little as 20 minutes.
