Key Takeaways:

  • Skyborne Airline Academy has introduced a new "partial pathway" in its FAA Part 141 program, allowing Private Pilot Certificate (PPL) holders to join training directly at the instrument rating stage.
  • This new option aims to prevent PPL holders from repeating primary training, which often proves frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive in traditional Part 141 programs.
  • The pathway offers a structured curriculum for students to complete their instrument rating, commercial single and multi-engine ratings, and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) training, preparing them for professional pilot careers.
  • Entry requirements include holding a PPL, an FAA first-class medical certificate, a high school diploma, and successfully completing Skyborne's Flightline Orientation Course.

One of the challenges of enrolling in a Part 141 training program with a private pilot certificate (PPL) is that the students often have to repeat the primary training. This can be frustrating, time consuming, and expensive, according to officials at Skyborne Airline Academy in Vero Beach, Florida.

That’s why Skyborne is now accepting students who have a PPL into its FAA Part 141 program, allowing them to join training at the instrument rating stage in a new partial pathway.
