Each day, the team at Aircraft For Sale picks an airplane that catches our attention because it is unique, represents a good deal, or has other interesting qualities. You can read Aircraft For Sale: Today’s Top Pick at FLYINGMag.com daily.
Today’s Top Pick is a 2020 Cirrus SF50 G2 Vision Jet.
Cirrus changed the game when it began delivering the SF50 Vision Jet in 2016. Having flown the prototype eight years earlier, the company had watched as several competing very light jet (VLJ) designs failed to survive the aftermath of the Great Recession of 2008.
Cirrus had to put the Vision Jet on the back burner for a while but managed to hold on and eventually reached production.
I had the chance to review the aircraft in 2017 for an article comparing general aviation travel to the traditional vacation road trip. Martha’s Vineyard was the destination, and a colleague headed to the island by car from midtown Manhattan while I took off from nearby Essex County Airport (KCDW) in New Jersey.
It was a Friday afternoon in the summer. The Cirrus chief pilot and I could see traffic jams on the Interstate from 15,000 feet as we cruised at 300 ktas. My colleague wound up turning back, having spent several hours in traffic without making it through Connecticut.
The SF50, meanwhile, whisked us to the Vineyard in 50 minutes, door to FBO door.

Today, probably with countless similar successful missions to its credit, the aircraft has overcome any doubts that critics expressed during its development and is a popular model among individuals and charter companies. Buyers are snapping up the jets faster than the company can build them. The wait time for a new Vision Jet is measured in years.
The aircraft for sale today is an example of the turbine opportunities available on the used market. Pre-owned SF50s tend to be well documented and offer value when compared with the price of a new example. Still, the lack of a waiting list is sure to be among the most appealing factors for jet shoppers.
This 2020 Vision Jet has 843 hours on its airframe and engine since new. The aircraft is certified for flight into known icing (FIKI) and has a basic empty weight of 3,536 pounds.
The panel features the Perspective Touch+ by Garmin flight deck with 14-inch displays, including PFD and MFD, Taws-B, dual WAAS GPS/nav/com, enhanced data logging, ADS-B In and Out with traffic and weather, Synthetic Vision, FlightCharts, SafeTaxi, Safe Return Emergency Autoland System, Autopilot with blue level button, and Electronic Stability Protection.
Pilots who wish to step up to the superior speed and comfort of a personal jet aircraft while enjoying a relatively easy transition from high-performance piston models should consider this 2020 Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet, which is available for $2.6 million on AircraftForSale.
