Key Takeaways:

Michigan has launched a "whole-of-government" initiative, backed by Governor Whitmer and new executive directives, to establish itself as a national hub for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technologies like drones and electric air taxis.
This comprehensive strategy aims to accelerate AAM development by creating testing corridors, attracting manufacturers, cultivating a skilled workforce, and increasing public acceptance of these new aviation technologies.
The state is investing an additional $4.1 million in grants for four specific AAM projects, including drone delivery for healthcare and medication, and the creation of an urban testbed and a 40-mile beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone corridor.
