The 47th annual Air Race Classic (ARC), a cross-country competition for women pilots, is scheduled from June 18-21, starting in Southern Illinois and ending in Northern Colorado.
The race celebrates the 95th anniversary of the 1929 Women's Air Derby, upholding its legacy of promoting pilot skill and strategic flight planning over speed.
Teams of at least two qualified female pilots compete against an assigned handicap, flying normally aspirated, piston-powered aircraft under visual flight rules during daylight hours.
On June 18, teams of women pilots from across the U.S. will take off from Southern Illinois Airport (KMDH) in Carbondale, Illinois, for the 47th annual Air Race Classic.
The competition promotes skill over speed along the course that measures 2,610 sm. The race is set to end June 21 at Northern Colorado Regional Airport (KFNL) in Loveland.
