Key Takeaways:

  • The Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) has launched a new online jobs board to help its member avionics service facilities find trained technical talent.
  • This initiative addresses a significant workforce shortage in the avionics industry, driven by retirements, competition from other high-tech fields, and a growing fleet.
  • The revamped jobs board is free for AEA member companies to post positions and offers job seekers convenient search options by keyword, company, location, and job type, providing a specialized alternative to general job sites.
  • Avionics technicians are a well-compensated profession, with average annual salaries exceeding $65,000, yet the industry still faces challenges in recruiting and retaining qualified professionals.
