Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, has been acquired by Chuck Surack, founder of Surack Enterprises.
Surack aims to revive Enstrom as a leading American-made helicopter manufacturer, initially focusing on parts support for current owners before resuming new helicopter production.
The acquisition, funded by Surack's Sweetwater Sound business, saves Enstrom after a previous buyer's deal fell through and integrates it into Surack's existing aviation portfolio.
Chuck Surack, the founder of Indiana-based Surack Enterprises, has purchased Enstrom to rebuild the Enstrom brand, or as Surack Enterprises describes it, “one of the leading American-made helicopter manufacturers as it once was.”
