NASA's Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) program has awarded $5.1 million in grants to 17 researchers for the development of "futuristic space technology concepts."
These grants fund early-stage research critical for future space missions, aiming to expand the possibilities for exploration with humans and robots.
The funding is allocated across two phases: 12 Phase I projects receive $175,000 for nine months, and 5 Phase II projects receive $600,000 for two years.
