The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) scrambled F-16 fighter jets to intercept five “general aviation aircraft” that it said violated a temporary flight restriction (TFR) in Houston while President Donald Trump was in town.
NORAD said the fighters on Friday morning safely escorted the aircraft out of the restricted area. Trump visited Houston Thursday and Friday to attend a reception and award medals to NASA’s Artemis II astronauts, who earlier this year flew around the moon and traveled farther from Earth than any human.
