Every day, the team at Aircraft For Sale chooses an airplane that catches our attention because it is unique, a good deal, or has other qualities we find interesting. You can read Aircraft For Sale: Today’s Top Pick at FLYINGMag.com daily.
Today’s Top Pick is a 1986 Beechcraft B36TC Bonanza.
This B36TC represents a rare opportunity to acquire a classic, high-performance airframe where all the modernization work is already complete. This is a “no-excuses aircraft” with a rare pedigree and top-tier performance.
The Beechcraft B36TC, introduced in 1982, was a significant evolution of the already legendary Bonanza line. Designed to be a premier high-altitude personal transport, its biggest change from the A36TC it replaced was the addition of the longer, more robust wing from the twin-engine Baron 58. This new wing, spanning nearly 38 feet, allowed for a higher 3,850-pound gross weight and, crucially, a massive increase in standard usable fuel capacity to 102 gallons.
This hangared airframe, which has no known damage history, has only 1,874 total hours since new. Power comes from the venerable 300 hp Continental TSIO-520-UB, which has only 108 hours since a factory overhaul. It is paired with a three-blade, deiced McCauley propeller with just 85 hours since its overhaul. Performance is further enhanced with desirable upgrades, including a Merlyn Intercooler and D’Shannon engine baffling, ensuring efficient high-altitude operation.
The panel is the centerpiece of this aircraft. This is a fully Garmin-equipped cockpit built for serious, modern IFR. It features dual 10-inch G3X Touch displays for PFD and MFD functions, anchored by a GTN 750Xi WAAS navigator. A GFC 500 digital autopilot with yaw damper dramatically reduces pilot workload, while a GNX 375 GPS/Transponder provides full ADS-B In and Out capabilities. The system is completed with a G5 standby display, GMA 345 audio panel, GTR 20 remote comm, and GEA 24 engine interface with precise CiES fuel senders.
An additional $750 training credit is included upon purchase for those needing to freshen up their skills when changing to a new platform.
Listed at $579,000, this 1986 Beechcraft B36TC Bonanza, with its six-seat club configuration, Precise Flight speedbrakes, and an annual inspection completed in March 2025 is ready for immediate cross-country touring.
