SAFE Gears Up for Weekend Pilot Proficiency Event

Group offering forums and Redbird sim session.

If you’re headed to San Marcos, Texas, next month for the dollar-a-gallon gasoline, you might consider using some of the money you saved for a weekend-long pilot proficiency forum series and hour-long session in a Redbird motion simulator.

The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) will be holding its first ever regional Pilot Proficiency Project event at Redbird Skyport the weekend of October 26 and 27. The event will include forums presented by acclaimed instructors plus a moderated panel titled “iPad Best Practices for Flight Planning.”

The full slate of forums over two days costs $225 to attend and includes lunch plus a one-hour session in a Redbird simulator. SAFE is also offering other pricing options. Check here for details.

In case you haven’t heard, Redbird Skyport will be selling avgas for $1 a gallon all next month. If you won’t be in Texas in October, SAFE says it plans to hold more regional forums at locations around the country in the future.
