BendixKing AeroVue Certified in King Air B200

The retrofit cockpit, in development since 2014, brings bizjet functionality to more of general aviation.

BendixKing has received FAA certification for the AeroVue integrated flight deck in the Beechcraft King Air B200, the first STC for the retrofit cockpit and one of a number of planned certification programs in general aviation airplanes. The new flight deck is available now, BendixKing notes, adding “business jet technology and functionality” to the GA cockpit.

“We are excited to bring the same quality and sophistication of Honeywell’s Primus Epic and Primus Apex integrated flight decks to King Air B200 customers,” said David Steinhoff, senior product manager for BendixKing. “AeroVue provides our customers the reliability and functionality that they expect.” BendixKing is a business unit of Honeywell, which supplies cockpits for a variety of new business jets as well as the avionics in the Pilatus PC-12 NG.

The suite incorporates three high-resolution 12-inch LCDs with Honeywell’s SmartView synthetic vision system. AeroVue also includes a full flight management system and HUD-like symbology on the primary flight display that make it easy to “point and fly” exactly where the pilot would like to go. The flight deck includes a cursor control device mounted on the center console. BendixKing also noted that AeroVue is also compatible with Aspen Avionics’ Connected Panel wireless gateway, allowing nav updates to be performed wirelessly.

The AeroVue system weighs 125 pounds less than currently installed equipment, allowing B200 owners to carry more payload. The suite is also full compliant with the FAA’s ADS-B mandate.
