At 12:10 PST, an experimental KR-2 lost engine power and crashed on top of a car in a parking lot in Moreno Valley. The pilot suffered minor injuries. The flight originated at Chino about four hours before the accident. The wings were removed from the airplane to facilitate recovery. The airplane was tipped on each side to capture the remaining fuel. Oct. 16, Bell Buckle, Tenn. / KR-2 homebuilt

At about 12:32 CDT, the pilot of a KR-2 lost control and crashed near Bell Buckle, killing the two aboard. The flight had originated about 5 minutes earlier from Shelbyville. A witness said the accident airplane seemed to be lower than usual and that the engine was sputtering….

May 24, Wichita Falls, Texas / KR-2S

At 19:05 central time, an experimental KR-2S crashed following a loss of engine power and spin while maneuvering near Wichita Falls. The pilot and passenger were killed. A witness said the airplane was in a climbing turn when the engine sputtered and quit. It nosed over and spiraled to the ground. The airplane struck the ground relatively flat. The cockpit was crushed flat and each main landing gear was shoved up into the respective wing. The wreckage showed no evidence there was fuel on board at the time of impact….
