The Aurora, Oregon-based company, Van’s Aircraft, announced the first flight of the engineering prototype of the Van’s RV-15 this week, a high-wing design intended for the backcountry.

The experimental supersonic aircraft has returned to Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works facility in California for final assembly.

Experimental aircraft is expected to be shipped to Lockheed Martin’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas by year’s end.
