Sporty’s and Savvy Team Up to Provide Breakdown Assistance

Sporty’s is expanding the breakdown assistance program it introduced at Sun n’ Fun this spring by partnering with Savvy Aviator to offer pilots 24/7 worldwide breakdown assistance.

Priced at $149 a year for piston single owners, the Sporty’s/Savvy program allows customers to speak with Savvy’s expert A&P mechanics should they experience a mechanical problem away from home. The mechanic will troubleshoot the problem over the phone and offer advice on how to fix problems with the minimum downtime and expense while maintaining safety.

Founded by well-known maintenance technician Mike Busch, Savvy provides maintenance management services for around 700 general aviation airplane owners. Savvy had offered breakdown assistance, but not an unbundled program such as this and not with 24/7 support.

Owners of piston twins pay $199 per year and single-engine turboprops $249 to join the program.
