The world’s largest fixed-based operator (FBO) network just got bigger. Signature Aviation, which owns Signature Flight Support, announced Thursday that it has agreed to acquire the FBO holdings of TAC Air, consisting of 16 FBO locations and one private hangar facility throughout the United States. 

Terms of the deal were not immediately available. 

A Signature spokesperson confirmed the deal to FLYING.

“The purchase will strengthen Signature’s existing footprint at several airports and extend the global Signature network to new airports. Signature anticipates the transaction closing in the second half of 2022, subject to regulatory approvals,” the spokesperson said.

Signature already operates more than 200 FBOs globally.

The 16 Tac Air locations included in the agreement are:

  • Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (KAMA)
  • Centennial Airport (KAPA)
  • Bradley International Airport (KBDL)
  • Buffalo Niagara International Airport (KBUF)
  • Dallas Love Field Airport (KDAL)
  • Fort Smith Regional Airport (KFSM)
  • Blue Grass Airport (KLEX)
  • Clinton National Airport (KLIT)
  • Eppley Airfield (KOMA)
  • Provo Municipal Airport (KPVU)
  • Raleigh-Durham International Airport (KRDU)
  • Shreveport Regional Airport (KSHV)
  • Salt Lake City International Airport (KSLC)
  • Spirit of St. Louis Airport (KSUS)
  • Texarkana Regional Airport (KTXK)
  • McGhee Tyson Airport (KTYS)

Also included in the deal is TAC Air’s hangar complex, a 65,000-square-foot facility at Arizona’s Scottsdale Airport.This will be Signature’s second acquisition since it was acquired in May 2021 by a consortium of private equity firms—including Blackstone, Global Infrastructure Partners, and Cascade Investments—for $4.7 billion from Global Infrastructure Partners. In December 2021, Signature acquired Vail Valley Jet Center (VVJC) FBO at the Eagle County Regional Airport (KEGE) in Colorado.
