Piper's single-engine PiperJet is currently under construction as a proof-of-concept aircraft, targeting certification by the end of 2010.
The design has undergone several modifications, including a dramatic 30-degree tail sweep, redesigned winglets, and a new wing leading edge shape.
This six-place, all-metal jet is powered by a single Williams FJ44 turbofan engine, projected to achieve a 360-knot cruise speed, 1,300 nm range, and sell for approximately $2.2 million.

Piper’s single-engine jet, seen here in real-life and in an artist’s rendering, is working its way through development. The company says that despite some changes to its design, the airplane is still on track for certification by the end of 2010.
