Lancair announced a new kit pricing format for the Legacy two-place single, choosing an “all inclusive” model that includes everything needed to build one.
The revised pricing is intended to take the guesswork out of budgeting and allow builders to better manage their time. The hope is that more kits become finished airplanes.
The Legacy is offered in three versions: the RG-550, a retractable gear version powered by a Continental IO-550N engine; the FGC-550, a fixed-gear version with the IO-550N; and the FG-390 with fixed gear and powered by the Lycoming IO-390.
In addition to the complete airframe and engine, each kit includes a dual-screen Garmin G3X avionics system with he G3X autopilot, GTN650 navigator, GNC255 navcoms, engine information system, ADS-B, XM Weather, electronic backup instruments and more.
Kit pricing, which includes Lancair’s two-week builder-assist program, is $249,975 for the RG-550; $244,995 for the FGC-550 and $202,795 for the FG-390.
Lancair will continue to offer the Legacy in individual sub-assembly kits for those looking to customize their airplanes.
