Key Takeaways:

Maybe you’ve made it out to the airport, and maybe you’ve still been flying for your essential job. But absence makes the heart grow fonder—or at least tolerant— for a lot of us, even of the most congested airline terminals and conflicted ramp spaces. If you miss going to the airport, the North American Airports group will deliver a livestream virtual concert featuring 23 airports around the country on May 6, starting at 6 pm EDT.

The streamed event will be held on Facebook Live, and it hosts a performer that’s representative of each city on the roster. A virtual tip jar allows you to contribute to your favorite musicians in the concert—especially welcome during a time when in-person performing has taken a ground stop similar to that of the airlines.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS) will host the event from Texas—fitting as the town has suffered the cancellation of the Oshkosh-like-in-scope SXSW (South by Southwest) festival in March 2020, and given its role as a “music city” as well as an aviation hub.

The full lineup for the event will feature the following airports and performers:

  • Gina Chavez – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS)
  • Don Hicks – Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (KFLL)
  • Eddy Fabrizio Castellanos – Jacksonville International Airport (KJAX)
