Flying Sponsors New York-Area Wings and Wheels Show

Rides in EAA’s B-17 Aluminum Overcast will be a highlight of the exposition at New Jersey’s Essex County Airport September 23 and 24.

Flying magazine, in support of the Aviation Hall of Fame of New Jersey, will participate in a Wings and Wheels Exposition being held for the first time ever at Essex County Airport in Caldwell, New Jersey, this September 23 and 24.

Thousands of spectators are expected for the New York City-area show, a highlight of which will be rides in EAA’s Boeing B-17 Aluminum Overcast. The WWII-era bomber will be joined on the flight line by other warbirds, unique general aviation aircraft and homebuilts plus hundreds of classic cars.

The NJAHOF will also host helicopter rides during the show, as well as a vendor area with food, games for kids and more. All the proceeds from the weekend event will go to benefit the Hall of Fame and its aviation museum at Teterboro Airport.

Price of admission to the Wings and Wheels Expo is $10 for adults and $8 for children 5-12 and seniors over 62. Rides in Aluminum Overcast, available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, cost $435 for EAA members and $475 for non-members. Admission for show cars on Saturday and Sunday is $20 per carload. Pilots who wish to display unusual aircraft in the Wings area can arrange to do so for free by contacting [email protected].

Gates for the general public open each morning at 9 a.m. For more information visit www.njahof.org and www.b17.org.
