Private aviation company FlyHouse has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sun Air Jets, a Southern California-based aircraft management and charter operator.
According to a news release from FlyHouse, the acquisition aims to broaden its service offerings and infrastructure.
A key addition is Sun Air Jets’ FAA Part 145 repair station, which will provide FlyHouse with in-house maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. FlyHouse will also assume control of hangar, ramp, and support facilities at Van Nuys (KVNY) and Camarillo (KCMA) airports in California, as well as a FBO at Camarillo.
The deal expands FlyHouse’s owned and managed fleet with the addition of multiple super-mid and large-cabin aircraft, supplementing the more than 2,000 aircraft available through its global charter network.
“Our agreement to acquire Sun Air Jets represents a defining move in FlyHouse’s growth,” said FlyHouse CEO Jack Lambert Jr. in the release. “Owning a 145 repair station, an expanded fleet, and premier facilities at Van Nuys and Camarillo fundamentally changes our capabilities.”
The transaction is expected to position FlyHouse for international expansion by standardizing operational procedures to meet European certification requirements. Over 100 aviation professionals from Sun Air Jets will join the FlyHouse team, and Sun Air Jets’ operations will be integrated into the FlyHouse network after closure.
FLYING reached out to FlyHouse for confirmation on when the deal is expected to be finalized.
