Cessna Announces University Partners for 2017 Top Hawk Program

Five schools will take delivery of a Skyhawk 172 and benefit from internship opportunities.

Cessna Aircraft today announced its selections for the 2017 Top Hawk program, a partnership that provides each chosen university with a new Skyhawk 172 to use in flight training, recruiting efforts and promotional activities.

This year’s Top Hawk university partners are Eastern Kentucky, Ohio State, Auburn, Southern Illinois Carbondale and Louisiana Tech.

“These universities are renowned for their innovative aviation programs, and we are confident they will represent the Top Hawk program and Cessna brand very well as we work together to provide students state-of-the art resources and empower them to choose a rewarding career in aviation,” said Doug May, Cessna vice president of Piston Aircraft.

Through Top Hawk, each selected university will take delivery of a new custom-branded trainer aircraft early next year. This is the third year of the program, which also provides top students Textron Aviation summer internship opportunities.

Garmin and Bose also sponsor the Top Hawk program, providing a G1000 database subscription, GDL39 ADS-B receiver, Garmin Pilot subscription Virb XE HD camera and A20 headset to each school.
