AKG Gets into Aviation with AV100 Headset

New high-end headset takes aim at top competitors.

AKG, which has for more than 65 years produced professional audio products for music professionals from Frank Sinatra to Quincy Jones, has gotten in the aviation game with a light and cool looking headset, the AV100. The headset is completely purpose built; there aren’t any existing components from other AKG products.

The headset has a carbon fiber look, though it is not made of carbon fiber. It weighs 12.2 ounces and features what AKG calls a “hybrid active noise reduction” approach. Other features include Bluetooth for mobile phone or portable music player connectivity and a remote activated LED map light in the right earcup.

Look for an upcoming flight test with the AV100 in Flying soon.
