Value

Tuition here is higher than most. Undergraduate students can expect to pay $48,000 per year on top of their flight costs. Flight costs are estimated to be another $48,000 for all of the flight time required to graduate. If a student comes in with a private pilot certificate already in hand, the flight costs drop to about $32,000 over four years.

The school does offer financial aid to eligible students as well as scholarships. Merit-based, competitive, transfer, and other private scholarships are available.

Saint Louis partners with some regional airlines to give students the chance to gain conditional jobs offers for after graduation. Those airlines include:

  • Envoy Air
  • Republic Airlines
  • Mesa Airlines

Fleet and Facilities

The university offers three different aircraft that students can train in. They also host a Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ-700) simulator.

The fleet consists of:

  • Diamond DA-20s
  • Piper Archers
  • Piper Seminoles

Students finishing the flight program can take advantage of the 500-hour ATP reduction.

Campus Life

Students have the choice to live on or off campus and to purchase a dining plan. The school also provides mentoring programs for students to connect with peers, alumni, and SLU industry partners.

The Bottom Line

While studying at Saint Louis University, students can network with industry professionals, which could open doors for their aviation career.
